Mirror Magic: a spatial reasoning game for kids

Spatial thinking

Copy, mirror and turn the pattern!

▶ Play Mirror Magic

Your child sees a pattern of colored squares and rebuilds it on their own grid — first as a copy, later mirrored or rotated.

This trains spatial thinking: imagining how a shape looks when flipped or turned, a skill linked to maths and geometry.

Grids grow from 3×3 to 5×5, more squares are filled, the rule moves from copy to mirror to a 90° turn, and from level 8 the model disappears after a few seconds.

How to play

  1. Look at the pattern.
  2. Tap your squares to make it.
  3. Follow the sign: copy, mirror or turn.
  4. Tap ✅ when you are done.

Why it helps

Based on spatial transformation and pattern reproduction tasks. Grown-ups can see accuracy for each rule.

💡 Build simple block patterns and ask your child to build the mirror version. Use a real mirror to check together.

Frequently asked questions

What does Mirror Magic train?

Spatial reasoning: copying, mirroring and rotating patterns in the mind.

Why does the pattern disappear?

From level 8 the model hides after a few seconds, so your child must hold it in memory too.

Is it too hard for a 6-year-old?

No. It starts with simple copying on a small grid and only gets harder as your child succeeds.
