Same or Mirror? A mental rotation game for kids

Mental rotation

Is it turned, or flipped like a mirror?

▶ Play Same or Mirror?

Two shapes appear side by side. The right one is turned — your child decides if it is the same shape or its mirror image.

This trains mental rotation: turning a shape in your mind, a spatial skill linked to maths, science and puzzles.

Rotations become finer, shapes get bigger, the helper eye disappears after level 10, and a time limit is added at the top levels.

Why it helps

Based on the Shepard–Metzler mental rotation task. Grown-ups can see accuracy and response time.

💡 Use letter blocks or paper cut-outs: turn one and flip another, and ask which is “the same”.
